The 2009 ITCA Conference was held at the Four Points Sheraton O’Hare in Chicago. More than any other conference, this conference focused on training! Eight Master Trainers participated in everything from a Professional Panel addressing questions submitted by members though our conference survey in January, to individual Executive Trainers like Ann Kashiwa answering questions on “What should I do when…” and Heidie Rosado who was our Keynote Speaker. In her Keynote address she talked about her conversion to True Colors, her experience as a Trainer, and the great future she sees for True Colors in the years ahead.
For the first time ever the Master Trainers also presented 60 minute sessions on some of the most popular Additional Applications: Career Development, True Coaching, Leadership, Parenting, Selling, and Communications. There were two Additional Application certification trainings offered as pre- and post- conference trainings: Managing Conflict and Change. Heidie Rosado was the Executive trainers for those trainings in addition to being our Keynote Speaker.
Once again the most significant aspect of the conference was the networking with fellow Facilitators. Nancy Sicks sums it all up in her evaluation comments:
“As a new member and facilitator of True Colors, the Chicago Conference was a real motivator. The variety of people made the conference interesting and at the same time very entertaining. I especially liked having a choice of breakout sessions. Options ARE GOOD! The wealth of experience and knowledge each presenter brought to the table was priceless. And speaking of price, the cost of the conference was very reasonable. The hotel was nice, friendly, and easily accessible from car or plane.
I met some awesome people, gained some immeasurable knowledge, and left with an arm full of material that I could readily put to use. I’m looking forward to the next conference….don’t be left out! Most memorable quote came early on from Jeff Miller in the very first session: True Colors World Café: “If you ever had a breakfast sandwich from McDonalds…..the chicken participated; the pig committed!”
